2021 — The wardrobe & objects
Featuring James Bond, Madeleine Swann, Paloma
No Time to Die lets Bond drift from one register to another: retired in Jamaica, riding out in a blue Land Rover, then back in motion through Matera, Norway and the long, cold corridors of Safin’s island. The clothes track the shift neatly, from a sand Massimo Alba suit at Vesper Lynd’s grave to a duster coat in the Norwegian dust, and on to the stripped-back gear of the finale. There is a quiet confidence to the wardrobe, even when the mission frays. Madeleine Swann appears in a red Rouje dress in those first Italian moments, before the film hardens around ambushes, old wounds and unfinished business. Bond keeps moving, but nothing here feels hurried.
