007 Ribbed Army Sweater

James Bond in No Time to Die, 2021 — as worn by Daniel Craig

In the film’s closing movement on Safin’s island, James Bond wears the N. Peal 007 Ribbed Army Sweater as he returns to the fortified lair and nanobot facility for the climactic confrontation.

The scene — James Bond

In the film’s closing movement on Safin’s island, James Bond wears the N. Peal 007 Ribbed Army Sweater as he returns to the fortified lair and nanobot facility for the climactic confrontation. The sweater stays on him through the last assault inside the bunker complex, as Bond moves through concrete-and-steel corridors, fights Safin’s men, and pushes toward reopening the blast-resistant doors. Paired with the combat trousers created for the same sequence, it becomes a defining part of his final-mission silhouette in Daniel Craig’s last Bond film.

The N. Peal 007 Ribbed Army Sweater signals Bond’s shift from retirement back into active duty with a look rooted in military utility rather than formal elegance. N. Peal describes the piece as worn in the film’s final act, and Daniel Craig said he had long conversations with costume designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb about Bond’s clothes, while Vogue noted that this ribbed army sweater was custom-made for the character. Brand material also traces the design to Royal Navy knitwear, and other coverage of the costume identifies it as a collaboration between Larlarb and N.

Peal, which helps explain why the sweater reads as both rugged and specifically tailored to Bond’s physical, close-quarters endgame. On screen, the dark navy knit stands out against the lair’s gunmetal interiors, shadowed industrial rooms, and exposed rooftop setting. Its ribbed texture catches the light in close shots and medium action framing, giving the sweater visible structure even amid the harsh, low-key lighting of the bunker and the colder exterior light of the missile-silo climax.

The object

The N. Peal 007 Ribbed Army Sweater comes from a maker with an established Bond connection. N. Peal had already supplied knitwear for Skyfall and Spectre before collaborating again with the No Time to Die costume department, folding this piece into its official 007 collection. For this design, the company worked directly with costume designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb, who said the brief called for a unique, action-ready garment with a strong silhouette and a timeless quality rooted in Bond’s military past. That brief led N. Peal back to archive references and vintage British military apparel. The finished sweater models itself on British commando and “woolly pully” service knits, but sharpens the idea into a more cinematic piece: a fully ribbed body, reinforced canvas patches at the shoulders, elbows and cuffs, and a draw-cord neckline finished with metal trims.

N. Peal lists it as a 5-ply blend of 90 percent superfine merino wool and 10 percent cashmere, and identifies the screen-used color as Navy Blue under style reference NPG007526_NVY. The brand also sells it as a unisex design graded in men’s sizing. In No Time to Die, James Bond wears the sweater in the film’s final act on Safin’s island, including the closing confrontation in the missile-silo complex.

Larlarb noted that the production needed a large number of matching samples on a tight schedule for a specific action sequence, which helps explain the sweater’s robust, repeatable construction as well as its stripped-back tactical look. Its afterlife has been unusually strong for a piece of Bond knitwear. N. Peal promoted it heavily at launch, noting its appearance in Bond’s character poster as well as the film, and later re-released it alongside the matching combat trousers. It remains one of the standout garments of Daniel Craig’s final 007 wardrobe, though current N. Peal listings have frequently marked the sweater sold out.
