The World Is Not Enough

After the Azerbaijan pipeline sequence, James Bond arrives at Valentin Zukovsky’s caviar fishery on the Caspian Sea in a silver BMW Z8. It is a suitably polished entrance, all cold metal and spray, before the meeting shifts onto the factory’s exposed walkways above the water. The car suits Bond as neatly as the setting suits the film: expensive, brittle-looking, and ready for trouble. By the time he is crossing those narrow platforms, the mood has already turned from sleek arrival to precarious business.
