1994 — The wardrobe & objects
Featuring Marsellus Wallace
In Pulp Fiction, a black Franzen leather briefcase slips into the story early, arriving with Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega as they come to a Hollywood apartment to reclaim what was stolen from Marsellus Wallace. It is the sort of object that does not need much screen time to leave a mark: sleek, heavy with implication, and handled like something far more valuable than mere luggage. Quentin Tarantino turns that briefcase into a piece of pure narrative pressure, all polished surfaces and unanswered business. Around it, the film finds one of its neatest tricks: making an ordinary item feel charged, ominous, and just a little ridiculous.
