1984 — The wardrobe & objects
Featuring Indiana Jones
After the white dinner jacket is lost in the chaos of Club Obi Wan, Indiana Jones settles into the brown Wested Leather Co Temple of Doom jacket, the piece that carries him from the neon churn of Shanghai into the rougher terrain of India. It is a practical sort of hero’s armour: worn, battered, and just self-conscious enough to suit a man who rarely has time to look comfortable in his own clothes. The jacket does the work quietly, which is usually how the best screen pieces behave. By the time the story hardens into danger, it feels less like costume than habit.
